Matthew (Matt) McClellan focuses on advising clients in business and employment immigration cases. He strives to guide clients through the layers of changing rules and policies and the many government agencies involved in U.S. immigration. He accomplishes this with the assistance of a wonderful professional group of skilled paralegals, who each have more than 15 years of experience.
Matt first became involved in immigration law as a paralegal in 1988, and since moving to Oregon in 1996, Mr. McClellan has devoted his law practice solely to immigration and nationality law matters. From 1996 until joining Elliott, Ostrander & Preston (“EOP”) as a shareholder in 2004, he managed his own firm (Immigration Law Offices of Matthew W. McClellan), and practiced with attorney and retired U.S. Consul Russell M. Winge, who founded Immigration Law Offices in Portland. After leaving EOP, Matt established Marandas & McClellan with John Marandas to create an immigration law firm that would serve a wide range of clients’ immigration needs. In 2015, Matt and John decided to continue their collaboration through their separate law firms.
Mr. McClellan devotes his practice solely to Immigration & Nationality Law. He is a Member of the Bar in Oregon (2016), District of Columbia (1995), and Pennsylvania (1992, Inactive). He has been a Member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 1995. When not at work or spending time with his family, Matt volunteers as a board member for three Portland non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting independence for those who live with disabilities, providing housing and care to the low-income elderly, and supporting the aspirations of refugees and immigrant communities.
